HSAT & 9th-Grade Prep (iPhone and iPad app)
Effective date: October 19, 2026
This policy explains how the HSAT & 9th-Grade Prep app (“the app”) handles information. The short version: the app does not collect any data. Everything stays on your device.
We (the developer) do not collect, receive, store, sell, or share any personal information or usage data. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of its own. It also does not need an internet connection to work.
This information is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is not sent to us or anyone else. Deleting a student profile in the app removes that student's results. Deleting the app removes all of its data from the device. This data may be included in your device's own iCloud or computer backups, which are managed by Apple and you, not by us.
Parent mode can be unlocked with Face ID or Touch ID. Biometric matching is done entirely by iOS. The app never sees, receives, or stores your face or fingerprint data. When you turn on Face ID unlock, the app saves a parent-mode unlock key in the iOS Keychain on your device, protected so it can only be read after a successful Face ID or Touch ID check. It never leaves the device, and you can turn it off at any time in Parent mode.
A parent can tap Share report in Parent mode to send a score summary using the iOS share sheet (for example Messages, Mail, or Notes). Nothing is shared unless a parent chooses to do this, and the parent picks the recipient. Once sent, the report is handled by the app you chose and the person you sent it to, under their own policies.
If you turn on study reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. iOS asks for your permission first. No push service or server is used, and you can turn reminders off at any time in the app or in iOS Settings.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no in-app purchases. It does not track you across other apps or websites.
The app is intended for students preparing for 9th-grade placement tests, many of whom are under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, and stores only a nickname and practice results on the device, we do not collect personal information from children as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We recommend a parent or guardian set up the app and the parent password. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it.
The Settings screen in the app links to this policy and the support page, which open in your web browser. These pages are static and do not use cookies or analytics run by us.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever starts collecting data, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required before doing so.
